                                                       - Chapter 5 -

            Bow’s workshop

Bow worked in a small hut in the centre of the numbat village, it wasn’t very big but bow never seemed to mind about it as long as he could work in it.
He was very artistic and normally made pots with very fine detail pictures on them, he always enjoyed it and worked for long periods a day, the pot he made didn’t make a lot of money but was good for what he gets, each pot was worth round about two dites each, which could afford only a slice of bacon, the normal amount of money Bow makes a day is about two mellowbies which is about ten dites.
Bow saved the money for house repairs most of the food was hunted by Erin, Sofear still needed some practice in hunting.
Numbats eat meat and insects but they eat a lot of fruit and sometimes leaves, Eirn, as being told that Sofear was his sister just thought that she was a regular numbat just she had a few differences and was born with it.
Sofear was never fond of fruit, sometimes she would eat a few leaves because everyone else ate them but she thought they were revolting and she couldn’t stand the taste of apples and they always made her feel sick, unfortunately for her, apples are the numbats number one favourite and they always eat them, Sofear just tries to act more like a numbat and eat the leaves.
Bow also made arrow bows or arrow heads out of slate or flint, the slate arrows only get one shot and they break but they are very sharp on their first shot and are good on their first shot but flint arrows last much longer and are more expensive, some about two mellowbies for just one flint arrow head unlike slate arrow head which cost about one dite.
Flint arrows have to be treated with the best care, they say ‘treat your arrow well and you will more likely hit than miss’

Bow was finishing of work, he decided to finish about mid day.
He brought a pot with him to take home, it had ivy paintings all over the rim and down the sides, it looked as if it was worth about four dites more than any of his others.
Bow closed the door of his work shop, it didn’t need a lock because no numbat is a thief and there are none around the numbat village also all the numbats new each other and every Wednesday most of the numbats go to the apple-arms pub for a apple beer of a pint of cherry sineder.
Bow headed walked through the village bit the pot in one hand and his Bow in the other and his arrow bag on his back and the strap round his arm.
He looked up at the village market which was starting to pack up, just selling off their last items and food. The market comes every Saturday and Sunday and sometimes Friday evenings.
Bow looked happy and had a cheer on his face, well he pretty much is always happy, even on a rainy day.
Bow started to move away from the numbat village and more into the open forest and grassland.
The sun was shinning brightly and peered through the tall trees, the light gave a warm yellow glow and it made the land look twice as peaceful.
Bow pattered his feet on the soft grass and sat down by a tree and looked up at the blue clear sky then saw a butterfly land on a leaf next to him then fly off again.
Bow took out a small booklet which was just about as big as the pads on his hands and got out a small feather pencil and opened up to a blank page and started to sketch the landscape in front of him and wrote a small description of his day and how nice it had been with the sun and the sweet spring smell.
Bow got out his small bone knife a cut off parts or the feather which had the lead in to make the lead more sharp and to make it make finer lines on the page.
Another animal came into Bow’s view, this time a small bird which was golden brown and had a golden yellow beak and feet.
The little bird looked up at Bow and gave a small tweet, then flew off to a small patch of damp grass and started to pull a worm out of the ground.
Bow smiled and started to write in his small booklet and sketch out a small picture of the bird desperately pulling the worm.
Bow shaded in the sketch with fine detail to finish it off then he wrote a small description underneath, then Bow turned the small page of the booklet and wrote some more.
He looked up at the lush green trees and slowly dosed off.
Chapter 5, yes well another short one but doesn't really matter anyway.
yeah bow can somtimes be a real softie when it comes to peace and nature but don't be so sure he's always like that... ^^
